          Agree.
And you can get it on top of their Mac & Cheese.
I go with the green on top of M&C, and the brisket straight up.

Went once, shared a couple of bowls with the gf, and did not love Slim's Last Chance. Both bowls soaked up generous helpings of salt and hot sauce, and her mac n' cheese (didn't order any in my bowl) was bland, not terribly cheesy, and hard on the edges (from age, not baking). It _was_ midafternoon on a weekday---while it shouldn't be terribly hard to keep chili delicious the whole day long, possibly I should go back during the lunch/dinner rush? I'm always open to reconsidering a place that gives me beer in a jelly jar.

In the joint's favor I will say that the service was lovely, that it looked like a nice place to spend an evening throwing back a few beers, and that one version of their chili has me considering replacing tomatoes with tomatillos in my own chili (which, honestly, is the best chili in Washington).

I'm sure it is an excellent place. when I looked at the link it says 1st ave south I'm guessing that is in Seattle. I am looking for something outside the city and the crowds.

                2. Ranch House Barbeque just outside of Olympia has Chow-worthy Chili. Their ribs are also outstanding. (As are the onion rings.) Worth the trip.

This was certainly worth the trip down from Seattle. Their pulled pork BBQ was excellent as were the sides. The waitress was really amazing and the pie was very good.

All in all well worth a drive if you are looking to get out and about.

                          1. If your looking for a great BBQ style chili then Ellensburg is a must stop across the state. They usually have corn bread to go with it. YUMMM.

Now we're talking some places that are worth the drives. We should be able to put a good list together if we can cover all 4 corners of the state

                                • The chili at the Depot Smokehouse in Everett is amazing - very dark and heavy, full of shredded barbecued meat, and topped with something remarkably like Cheez Whiz. I love it.
