Looking for a good "steak/seafood, possibly some pasta" restaurant Downtown area

Need some suggestions on good steak/seafood restaurants for lunch. Wouldn't hurt if they served some good pasta as well but that might be pushing it! Going to be by the downtown/loop/ near west side area. Family is coming in for my graduation in two weeks and need a spot to go for lunch. Thanks!

Harry Caray's has good steaks, and Italian food. David Burke's is a bit too risky for me to recommend: good raw beef, inconsistent preparation given the high cost.

David Burke's has the best steaks in the entire city, always perfectly prepared, based on my numerous visits there. And at lunchtime it can be a screaming bargain (such as when they have their $5 burger specials).

Harry Caray's (which is in River North) is a lot like Rosebud - not the best steaks, seafood, or Italian food, but not terrible either, so if you *must* have a place that has all three... Actually, if I had to go to a place that has all three, and I were in River North, the place I would go is Gene and Georgetti, better steaks than those others, plus seafood and pasta options. And the history; it's been there since 1941. www.geneandgeorgetti.com

I'm not sure what area you're looking for; "downtown" covers a lot of ground, and I'm not sure what you mean by "near west side" either. Can you be more specific regarding location?

Depending on which part of "downtown" you'll be near... In the Loop, I'd recommend Petterino's for steaks, Catch 35 for seafood, and Vivere for Italian food including pasta. In River North, David Burke's Primehouse for steaks, Shaw's for seafood, and Coco Pazzo for Italian food including pasta. If you're further north on the "Mag Mile" up towards Oak Street and the Gold Coast, good choices are Gibson's for steaks, Hugo's for seafood, and Cafe Spiaggia for Italian food including pasta. All of the steakhouses also serve seafood, and vice versa; the Italian places have steaks and seafood on the menu.

The Rosebud chain of Italian steakhouses has all of those food items, and they have several locations around downtown. I don't think they're as good at any of them as the previously-mentioned places that specialize in one type of food, but maybe that's the kind of place you're looking for?
