What to do with extra freebie

I have a Cineplex evening-night-out which is good for 2 movie admissions as well as a popcorn and two soft drinks. I want o use it to treat my friend for her birthday. She's good with the popcorn and drink but I no longer drink pop. I know from previous experience that with this type of deal they will only allow drinks from the fountain so I can't request juice or anything. The only two options I can think of are either asking if they'd just fill the cup with tap water or offering the free drink to someone else in line. Thoughts?

I had one of those certs and used it recently. They allowed both my friend and I have to popcorn and a bottled water instead of pop.

Hide a bottle of juice or water in your purse/jacket.

You could ask for a substitute, the worst that would happen is they would say no. Also if you don't mind paying a few dollars more, you may be able to "upgrade" your pop to something that you will drink.

It just feels like a waste to say "no thanks" to the second soft drink.

That's what I'm thinking of doing, only I know my friend will want the popcorn and other drink so I can't just hand over the coupon. Do I just ask the person behind my if they want me to get a drink for them?

Btw, I did pay for the certificate in the first place. That's why it irks me to just let the second drink go to waste.

If they won't give you an upgrade just offer it to the person in line behind you.
