Going to Coda on Friday, What's Good?

BlueTrain84 Dec 7, 2009 05:31 AM

Hi hounds,

I'll be dining at Coda for the first time on Friday night and wanted to see what the can't-miss meals/drinks are. I noticed a few earlier posts mentioned that the burger listed on the online menu might not still be there but that you can specifically ask for it, is this true? Very excited to try this place, thanks for any info.

Enjoyed the charcuterie plate a couple months back. Not sure it was a "can't miss" but it beat the mussels and mac and cheese, both of which were fine but nothing spectacular.

Definitely the burger - I love it with blue cheese. I also liked the bruschetta and the last incarnation of the fritters. I've not been too impressed with the entrees I've tried though (monkfish osso bucco (but the grits were good), duck papardelle, mushroom fricasse) - I'd say stick with the burger.

As for drinks, I like the Grapefruit Press (Ruby Red Vodka, St. Germain, Grapefruit Juice, Lime), but understand that I'm into girly drinks.

I'm a fan of their chicken under a brick.

Well, you wont be able to have it for dinner, but IMO, they have the best eggs benedict in the SE. Always perfectly cooked.
