Lunch party in SGV?

Hello! I'm looking for a place in the SGV area to host a 1-month old baby celebration lunch. We have 20-25 people and around $15-$17/person to spend. We're looking for a private room and a bit more upscale of a place. The food could either be served or set up as a buffet. It doesn't have to be a Chinese place, but I'm thinking they would probably offer the best value for what we need.

Searching the boards, it sounds like Mission 261 would work? Does anyone have experience with private parties at this place? Any other suggestions?

The Notrh Woods Inn has a very good lunch menu and a private room.

Lots of Chinese places will have private rooms: 888, Empress Harbour, NBC, etc. These are all Cantonese seafood places. Are you planning to have red eggs?

I did four luncheons like that in the last four years. Firefly in South Pasadena, Barney's (not Barney's Beanery) in Pasadena, Margarita's, and Crown City Brewery...also in Pasadena.

Barney's and Firefly worked very well, Margarita's works if you want more of a buttet setting...good taco bar at lunch and good margaritas. Barney's was good for beer on tap, Firefly only had bottles...both have full bar.

Crown City is no longer.

Babita may be able to handle that .. They are small but are flexible as far as food and needs. call them.

Mission 261 is closed for remodeling.

Try either 888 or NBC if you want to go the Chinese route.
