Good 2nd Date Spot in Midtown East

I am looking for a good date spot for a second date with a girl I really like. Ideally, it will be somewhat dark and not too loud, and a good place to have a good conversation.

I don't want to get too close to the center of the island, so best-case scenario would be somewhere between 40-60 streets, on Lexington or east of that, but that is not an absolute necessity.

As far as food, Italian would be great, or something eclectic and interesting. No sushi, though.

Please, any suggestions are MUCH APPRECIATED!

Here are a few suggestions that span a range of options (no particular order):

Mia Dona - new version of a previously solid Italian spot, classy and mid-priced
Fig & Olive - sleek, modern, olive-oil focused Mediterranean spot
Le Bateau Ivre - Good French spot, a bit sophisticated
Sofia - quiet, dark wine bar with pizza, panini and small plate offerings
Sip Sak - one of the best Turkish spots in the city, recently renovated for a slicker look
Felice Wine Bar - good Italian wine bar and restaurant for a date, but can get a bit expensive for offerings
Sakagura - hidden Japanese small plates restaurant specializing in sake offerings, located in basement of an office building

    Good luck!

Not sure how much you want to spend but Felidia on 58th and Third is a wonderful place. It's Lydia Batianich's resto so the food is terrific but not run of the mill Italian, ambience is quiet but not stuffy. It's a little pricey, but so worth it.

        Thanks for the suggestions, folks!

Cello is good, but I'd like a bit more of a proper food menu. Felidia is more pricey than I want, though it's the right track!

Do you know anything about Bar Vento?

how about Cello Wine Bar? i've never been there myself, but it's supposed to be cozy and intimate, and a couple of friends ave said that both the food and wine list are pretty good. it would be nice for the two of you to share some small plates and sample a few wines.

        it's on 53rd between 2nd & 3rd.
