we're looking for a good Thai place for dinner tonight.

we live in palms and santa monica so somewhere in the general vicinity would be nice.

i read a couple promising reviews on Thai Boom... is it appropriate for sit-down dinners?

  1. Thai Boom is fine for sit down dinner. Nothing fancy, but not just a take away type of place. You might read through this fairly recent thread http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/572843 for suggestions on west side Thai food. Emporium Thai up on Westwood Blvd. (but south of the Village) is a good place for west side Thai food.

Thai Boom has tables to sit at, but it's very informal. For a nicer dining room setting with good service and good food, look up Ayara Thai in Westchester. It is a good place to dine for Thai in the general Westside. And I did say good - not great or straight-out-of-Thailand authentic (preemtive disclaimer to potential slam attacks :)).

        1. Emporium Thai, on Westwood Blvd, just south of Wilshire.
