fairway kashrut question
does anyone know what the story is with the bakery in fairway?
i ask specifically abt the bagels
i assumed that only the closed stuff with hashgacha specific labels was kosher, as theyre clearly labeled as such, but this weeks circular has a picture of the hashgacha on the area listing the 3/$1 bagel sale
anyone?

I presume you are only talking about a particular Fairway, and I am assuming it is in NYC. I was in the Plainview Fairway on Thanksgiving, and the person I asked made it clear that their on-premises baked goods were not under hashgacha. Was she mistaken?

re: queenscook
I believe their productd come out of 1 place-the thing I quoted is found here http://www.fairwaymarket.com/bakery.html. Perhaps in Paramus, they are more conscious of the kosher consumer since it is so close to Teaneck so the bagels, cakes etc in showcases all say kosher supervised by Rabbi Avroham Marmorstein. They do have a case with items that are not kosher and it does say that.

re: koshergourmetmart
im under the impression that the bulk of the baked goods come from some cental bakery in manhattan, whether or not thats kosher, i dont know, hence my question
i go to the one in plainview, and em confused by the add
queenscook- look at the circular, where it says bagels are on sale, doesnt it look like theyre saying theyre under the hashgacha
i know rabbi marmorstein has commented on the one in red hook on chowhound, and im hoping hell pop in here

re: shoelace
I looked at the circular online, and it does look like they are saying the bagels are kosher. I wonder if emailing their kosher dept. (listed under "store departments" on their homepage) would answer your questions. I live too far from Plainview to make it worth my while to go there unless I am in Plainview visiting my family, but the kosher dept. page on the website does sound like they are helpful, and would probably be happy to clarify this (and any other) question.
