Yat's closing and moving...
Delicious oyster/shrimp Po' Boy at Yat's this morning.
They had a sign posted:
Yats is closing December 16, 2009 for the winter ... will re-open in the spring at our new 2100sq ft full service restaurant located at 4800 3rd St and Oakdale (opposite Bayview Opera).
Owner was hoping for a mid-March opening and said they would do breakfast and lunch with regular crab and crawfish boils. He had not yet decided about dinner.
IMO this is the best and closest to what you get in Lousiana -- in fact it would be considered a winner in NOLA.
Get your fix before it closes.

My friend text'd from The Boardroom bar in North Beach this morning, "Which do you want?" That'll get me to come over pronto. Turns out he was the first customer ever at the new digs. He had to wait a little bit for the kitchen to set up. Hours are 9:30-6, and there's a breakfast po' boy menu.
We shared a catfish and a oyster po' boy. Cooled down and a bit damp since it took me an hour to get there. Catfish was a bit bland and in need of salt. Loved the oyster po' boy.

No crawfish on Saturday, but promised soon. Also po' girls, a grilled version of a po' boy, will be coming up according to my friend.
