SO last minute, so I extend my thanks for any responses I get ahead of time! I am visiting a friend who lives near the corner of Avenue papineau / rue de bordeaux and rue marie-anne E / rue sherbrooke E and I am looking to have dinner somewhere within walking distance tonight.

Food quality is most important, and I am open to any suggestion you have that you enjoyed in the area.

There's Le Pistou (mont-royal st., near fabre), it's been a while since I've been there, but it's still there, and should be ok.
