L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon -Counter or Table?

I am going here tonight with my wife to celebrate our anniversary. I know counter seating is preferred but being it is our anniversary, are we better off with a table? More intimtae perhaps? Anyone have a suggestion? Thanks.

  1. I had dinner at L'Atelier last night, December 4th. It was fantastic. Sit with your wife at the counter, watching them cook and serve is one of the most charming aspects of the restaurant. It is still totally romantic, and the regular tables are sort of "left out" of the action. I had the club menu (5 courses for $85) and it was great. They also have the "discovery" menu at $185, which looked amazing but I didn't have enough time before a show to properly enjoy it. I would recommend a bottle of Pinot to go with the discovery menu, as it would cover most bases, where I would do by the glass for the club menu. Enjoy, you are going to have a fantastic meal!

    1. I've eaten at both a table and the counter an preferred the counter. As already mentioned, you hav a view into the kitchen, and the minimalist arrangements you see while seated at the counter are stunning. In my opinion, the counter is a better, more memorable experience. Hope you have a great time. Happy anniversary!

          1. Definitely counter. Tables are Siberia.
