I have always liked blackened mahi at Sharky's in Newport or Huntington Beach. I was there Sunday and had 3! Oh so good!!!

Thanks to everyone for the recs. I found two near me. First is Jalapenos Grill on
State College and Orangethorpe, just 2 blocks from CSUF.

They serve grilled fish, not battered, tacos.

The second find is Tio Chava's on Yorba Linda Bl. in Yorba Linda. Next to Pollo Loco.
      They have daily specials.

Both places have very reasonable prices

there's tacos baja (another branch of the famous tacos baja in ELA) in Whittier (and also on Whittier blvd) which is close to north OC depending where you are in north OC. Haven't tried it yet but if its close the original it should be great

I love Bear Flag Fish Company in Newport Beach on 31st Street, not only do they serve tasty tacos but amazing clam chowder and have a small case where you can buy fresh fish to take home!

Haven't been there in years, but I'm guessing that Taco Mesa gets more than a few votes...
