Any suggestions for Saturday brunch with a 9 year old?

La Boulange is a pretty safe choice, assuming your 9-year-old is as picky as the typical 9-year-old....

Home Plate, a nice mom and pop place, family friendly, very breakfast-y (eggs, pancakes, house-made sausage) all pretty fresh. Complimentary house made scones.

I like Home Plate, too. Bechelli's is also decent. Some may recommend Judy's on Chestnut, but I just don't get that place.

Wow...I finally get Judy's. Had a very tasty breakfast there on Christmas day with extremely friendly service. The home fries, in particular, were super delicious. I must have hit them off day previously.

Rose's Cafe on Union and Steiner(?) is a great place to go. I do like Judy's but the portions are huge and you have to pay in cash. The Grove is good for a very informal breakfast or brunch.
