Expert sushi guide in Tokyo?

We are heading to Tokyo in 10 days and are big/experienced sushi fans. We read an article a few months ago that mentioned the advent of sushi tour guides - experts that would take you around to new places, help you order, try new things, find local specialties, etc. Has anyone head of anything/one like this? Any recommendations appreciated.

Thanks!

I'm sure that if you paid for our meal, Asomaniac, lost squirrel, or myself would be happy to guide you around!

I am in NYC for the fall and am not doing tours of Tsukiji. But, Shinji Nohara is available. Contact me via my blog above and I can put you in touch with him. Shinji does tours with all of the big food writers and TV programs that come through Japan.

Let’s say that you want to understand the whole ‘gastronomie’ about sushi, not only the visit of Tsukiji market, here below a list :
There is a JTB tour of half day course (http://www.jtb-sunrisetours.jp/JTB.SunriseTours/frontend/tour.aspx?TariffCode=TYOOCUL220 ).
It is more a tourist thing with a non professional but surely very nice guide.
Never experienced myself, the Tokyo Sushi Academy in Nishi-Shinjuku has one day school course for visitors and different school option ( http://www.sushitokyo.jp/private ). This Academy is for professional also and seems serious. Try to call them.
For the cheapest way, command on Amazon the ‘the sushi menu book’ (http://www.amazon.com/Sushi-Menu-Book... ) and keept it on your bag and try contrasting categories as :
          Tachigui sushi or Stand Sushi
          Ordinary sushi
Kaiten sushi or non traditional sushi
          Edomae classic sushi
          High end sushi
Do not hesitate to answer back your budget for sushi places. Enjoy your sushi experience as myself.

I lived in Japan and happen to know Shinji and can attest that he is a charming companion.

Please help me get in touch with either you or Shinji Nohara for a tour in mid-March. I've been to your blog looking for contact information, but I can't find an appropriate link. In my search, I've even followed the link to Bespoke Japan since you're mentioned as the food guide in another article, but that site lists someone else as their food specialist.

              Thank you.

We're going to check in with Yukari - thanks to everyone for the great replies (and Ninisix, we'll look into those suggestions as well). Many thanks!
