Breakfast between Manalapan and Union Beach?

Hey Chowhounders,

I'm meeting a friend for breakfast Sunday morning and was looking for somewhere in between the two of us - Manalapan and Union Beach.

Any suggestions?

HillJ - I have been to Red Oak and thought it was pretty good as well.

And unfortunately, I have to agree with Turning Point in Holmdel. Went twice and have mentioned on this board before, neither time was that good.

We ended up at Americana in Shrewsbury, which ended up being a pretty solid choice.

Americana is my sons favorite diner. dani0622, I'm glad you select that breakfast place that fit your needs. What did you order? We like the french toast and eggs benny there.

Americana was a good choice and not mine! I had an egg white omelette with feta and tomatoes. My goodness, it was so good and incredibly huge! Def. one of the better diners in the area.

I was thinking the Turning Point in Holmdel also.

Although the atmosphere and service is still wonderful at The Turning Point, I have found the food unnecessarily greasy and the coffee "old" the last two times I met friends there for breakfast. Sorry to say, I wouldn't recommend it now.

That's too bad. I usually frequent the one in Little Silver. Amy's, as mentioned above though, has always been greasy to me, btw. I always feel sick after I eat there, but my husband likes it because they serve scrapple.

Amy's Omelette House - Long Branch on RT36 South loved or hated by many here. Large menu, once advertised "over 300" omelettes. Nice Casual atmosphere, expect a short wait at peak times (Sunday morning).
