River Market Toms River NJ Amazing Lunch Today!

We stopped in for lunch again at River market in downtown Toms River NJ today .....
place was packed...excellent menu with so many really interesting items.
I ordered the Baja Fish Taco w/ Pea Soup side. Let me say that this was one of the best Tacos I have eaten in a very long time........super crispy batter, double Taco shell, nicely seasoned sauce and spiced with just enough heat and sprinkled with cheddar cheese & herbs all combined to make a wonderful explosion of flavor in my mouth. The Pea Soup was a perfect texture, w/ chunks of smoky ham all through it. My wife ordered the home made Chicken salad in a grilled Spinach wrap with fresh greens, w/Pea soup side....I stole one bite and WOW!.... it was delicious also. The River Market really loves what they do and it shows in their food....they are also open for formal dinner dining Thurs - Saturday nights also.....we return time after time...give it a try!!

Were the high school students behaved when you were there for lunch? I avoid the place at that time of the day just to avoid having to deal with them.

I've eaten there at least once a week since the restaurant opened and I have never encountered any misbehaved high school students.

Hey Tapas52. I'm happy you enjoyed the River Market. Yesterday I too enjoyed the pea soup along with a nice half turkey sandwich. BTW, I had an excellent lunch today at my other favorite TR restaurant, Bistro 44.

Bgut1 one of these days we'll run into each other for sure!! I love the River Marke. & Bistro 44 also.t.. I also see that next door they are renovating & reopening the JAVA JOINT also....

One of these days... I'm not sure when the Java Joint is going to reopen but from the renovations I've seen it looks like it will be a nice improvement to the original.
