Goshen/Middletown rehearsal dinner
I'm looking for a place to hold our rehearsal dinner in the Goshen/Middletown area. (Church is in Goshen, hotel in Middletown -- most peeps from the dinner will be staying at the hotel.)
We live in NJ, so we're not familiar with the "dining scene," as it were, in Orange County. Ideally, it would be a spot with great food American or Italian food (to please the masses) and a somewhat chic/sophisticated atmosphere. Does such a thing exist?
It looks like there might be good options in Newburgh or Montgomery, but that seems like it might be a fair amount of driving for my guests (who are already driving from NJ or Connecticut for the wedding).
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You don't mention any details to size of your party or budget which may aid in some suggestions for your event.....Like you, I'm from NJ, so I really do not know much about the area, however, I have been to two places in Central Valley I'll mention to get the ball rolling for you to do some research and possibly let others make some comments on.
Central Valley Golf Club for a wedding was surprisingly very nice for an extended family member...........and Cosimo's for Italian and Pizza was enjoyed as well......the latter has a wine cellar for private dining if not mistaken.

Ooh, I did see Cosmino's online -- it's good to know it gets a good recommendation here.
Honestly, the guest list hasn't been hammered out yet, but I'm thinking maybe 25-30 people, if that helps... And my fiance's mom is paying, so I honestly don't know much about budget. I don't want to put her in the poorhouse, though =)
