Special Christmas Eve dinner Scottsdale
I'm in a desperate search for a great restaurant and memorable evening that may be categorized as the following: primarily local/farm-to-table and/or high end. We'd like to avoid the signature steakhouses and would like a place that consistently serves quality food in an aesthetically pleasing environment. Thanks for any leads!
It's not in Scottsdale, but one of my favorite local farm-to-table restaurants that I think is very special is Quiessence. It's just minutes from downtown Phoenix but tucked away on a 12-acre farm and pecan orchard. It's a beautiful setting with the restaurant located in a historic farmhouse. Last year they served the traditional Italian Christmas Eve Feast of the Seven Fishes, not sure what they're doing this year......
Last year's menu:

We will be visiting Scottsdale (from TX) the week of Christmas and I just made a reservation at Binkley's for Xmas eve. I'm not sure on the local or farm-to-table criteria, but it seems like it's that kind of place! And it can definitely be considered high end, I believe. I went with the recommendation from several people on this board, so I hope they haven't steered us wrong! It's a small restaurant, so reservations might be limited; however, I just called yesterday and was able to secure a spot, so hopefully they still have some space. Good luck and I hope you find a wonderful spot!
You won't be disappointed. I love Binkley's, one of my favorite restaurants. Always excellent, although I've never been there on a holiday, and he does source local farmers, wineries, and dairies. Our last visit was earlier this year on my birthday (I've posted the report and menu on this board) and we had a fantastic time. Have a wonderful Christmas Eve!
I didn't suggest it originally to the OP because it's in Cave Creek, not Scottsdale, but definitely worth the drive.

Also not in Scottsdale, but definitely farm-to-table is Caffe Boa in Downtown Tempe.
I just had lunch there today and enjoyed ingredients like wild arugula from Seacat Gardens and Queen Creek Olive Oil. This approach is the product of new chef Payton Curry, who recently migrated to Boa from the former Digestif in Scottsdale. The old Italian menu with East European influences has been replaced with a new menu that is still vaguely Italian but with an emphasis on local artisan ingredients.
