Kosher Carribean?

azna29 Dec 2, 2009 10:09 AM

Before we were kosher we went to Beaches, Atlantis and resorts like that for an easy family vacation. I wonder if anyone has any information about how or where we could do something like that while keeping kosher. Location in the carribean doesn't matter, what matters most is making meals easy and not too much work for us. We are not interested in a kosher cruise. Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

Club Kosher usually does a trip to the Carribean during Yeshivah break in Jaunary.

Otherwise, you can bring your own food double wrapped in foil. We let them know in advance, and Club Med was happy to store it and heat it up for us.

Were you able to bring the food on the plane without issue?

When we went to Club Med in Punta Cana, yes. We called up the resort beforehand and we spoke to someone who was able to let us know what could be brought in.

Family went to Cancun last year, and they were allowed to bring everything but meat.

Last year we went to the Marriott timeshare in St Thomas and we brought breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a week. I can give you ideas if you want...

I've had no trouble finding plenty of kosher food to buy at grocery stores on both St. Thomas and Grand Cayman. My advice is to get a room with a kitchenette or at least a fridge and microwave.
