best baby back ribs? no, seriously.

i'm running out of places to try spare ribs, so i thought i'd broaden my horizons.

in your opinion, what are the top 5 restaurants that serve baby back ribs?

this is what i'm looking for:

they must be smoked (not too much, not too little)
they must have a smoke ring
they must have a bark, and it cannot be burnt
they must be succulent and tender (not too difficult, considering)
they should be meaty and fairly well trimmed of fat
they should have a flavorful bark that is moderately spicy and not very sweet
they should not be finished on a grill

  1. They are really good at the Boneyard Bistro in Sherman Oaks.
but I cannot guarantee the ribs will qualify on all counts - that list seems too daunting for most people.
But they are definitely smoked on premises, aren't burnt, are succulent and tender, are meaty and well-trimmed. Saucing is on the side with several variations.

So does not completely qualify, but Honeybaked Hams will ship you the best ribs i have ever eaten in my life.

      2. Old Fashioned Flavor BBQ... best ribs I've had aside from the ones I pull fresh out of my back yard smoker on weekends. They also smoke a fantastic brisket.

        Old Fashion Flavor BBQ
        10514 S Western Ave
        Los Angeles, CA 90047
        (323) 418-0950

        1. If you want to be pleasantly surprised, go to THE OUTDOOR GRILL, which is where Washington Blvd, and Washintgon ??? meet in the Venice/Culver City area.
It's at a car wash, and everyone I've ever sent there, doesn't stop thanking me.
Zero ambiance, and the food is a TEN!!!!!!!!
          (and reasonable,,,,,)
