Need a fun place to take my suburbanite parents for dinner

LosFelizFeline Dec 1, 2009 12:13 PM

Looking for something fun with a relaxed vibe and great food... something that might broaden my parent's experience. Hopefully in the $20 entre level or less. I thought of Cobras and Matadors in Los Feliz but they closed down. Any suggestions?

You might try Papa Cristo's Thursday nights "Big Fat Greek Dinner" It's lots of fun, food is served family style and only costs $25 a person. Reservations are a must.

Great idea. I love Papa Cristo's. Any other ideas?

How about Thai? Jitlada or Ruen Pair perhaps?

Would something like Monte Alban or Mariscos Chente work? They're certainly palate-expanding...

ah i didn't read the moniker, and from the OP's query, i didn't get the sense that she was looking to stay in los feliz. if that's the case, both of my recs are "not close."

Perhaps the Japanese-inspired Umami Burger 2.0 and its sister bar next door, Salaryman?

And its location? Exactly where Cobras y Matadors used to be!

          Or... Gingergrass in Silver Lake?

Maybe something downtown such as Colori Kitchen might be a nice change without being too radical.

My suburbanite parents have pretty conservative palates, and they loved Marouch.

I'm a suburbanite parent and I love Musha in Santa Monica. I love, love, love Barbrix in Silverlake. There's also a Cobras and Matadors on Beverly.
