Restos in Van that escaped you....

so i hadn't been down denman for a few months and today noticed that Roosters Quarters was gone funny i had walked by the place a hundred times and had planned on checking it out at some point, but alas i missed out, so it made me wonder about places that others here had their eyes on but didn"t make it before they were no more, there was also another very short lived Tibetan place on Broadway upstairs , i should have known that place wasn't going to last too long

Desi Junction on Denman-I asked a taxi driver and he said it was closed...and Chow, I never seemed to get over there and it had such great reviews-I really feel like I missed out on this one.

i also heard food of desi, but it is a challenging location for sure when not at street level

growing up in East Van, I never ate at Wally's Burgers. My parents preferred to take us to McDonald's or the Malt Stop at Champlain Mall (waay back in the day).

Now I wish I had.

fwiw, not the original i know but Wallys did open up a mini location at the concession stand in cates park, not sure if it survived either, but it was there at the the beginning of last summer anyway

This was always a great place to go to as a kid. Malt + hot dog. mmmm...I wish I could find a picture of the sign. From what I remember, it was very 70's mall font.

Aurora Bistro on Main St. I had reservations a couple times, walked by, drove by, but somehow never made it inside! And then, poof, one day it was closed.

good one, i too was shocked when i heard it was gone, with that in mind, anyone know if the cannery ( closing in March) is worth the $$$$?

I haven't been in years....but from what I heard from people I know, it hasn't really changed much. Go if you have nostalgia - but if not then I don't think it will be worth it.

Very similar to the Fish House in Stanley Park. If you enjoy that then I would recommend the Cannery. The view is one of a kind.
