Cantonese (like Lee Garden in Toronto)

My wife and I have visited friends in Toronto the last few summers. Each time, our Canadian friends took us to a great Chinese (Cantonese,I think) restaurant called Lee Garden.

We will be entertaining our Canadian friends (and a few Canadian friends of theirs) in New York in December. Probably 8+ persons. We are looking for a rootsy, Chowhoundish-nothing fancy-but real good and authentic cuisine at a reasonable style service etc. Chinatown would be great.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!

  1. I think that this is the place you're referring to?

If so, I recommend Cantoon Garden in Manhattan's Chinatown.

    1. I second Cantoon Garden, unless you want to go to flushing...

        In which case, Imperial Palace?

Yes. That seems to be the consensus on chowhound and I thoroughly enjoyed it as well...

i'm the cheerleader for both restaurants (although Toronto has better chinese food than NY does fyi). So i recommend both restaurants, here's my reviews:
