Can you still buy imported salt-packed anchovies? If so, where?

Imported salt-packed anchovies appear to have disappeared from Montreal stores. Hounds first noticed the shortages about a year ago.

Some of us are wondering whether this is a Canada-wide phenomenon, especially since rosario now reports -- http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/670255 -- that clerks at Montreal's largest Italian supermarket say it's the result of a federal ban.

If you've bought salt-packed anchovies in your city in the past, can you buy them now? If so, where?

Now I will have to double check. I haven't had to purchase salt-packed in a while.
