Eating in south Brittany!

I am heading to Carnac, in the Morbihan area of Brittany for a few days. We are taking day trips in around the area and to Belle Ile en Mer. Does anyone have any tips/recommendations for places to eat around here. We are definitely prepared to make special trips for good food.
Thank you!

  1. Difficult time of year in Bretagne for restaurants, as many closed. Would check and see if La Taupiniere in Pont Aven is open. Michelin*, get the langoustines , go early to see the town, beautiful place. You will be near the Guerande, visit the salt fields, lovely trip, also near oyster town Belon, pefect time of year for them. In Carnac try to find Merlin`s grave.
The cyprus trees on the road to Belle Isle is one of my defining memories of Bretagne.
If you have not been to Mont St Michel, do it, an easy day trip.

    1. I don't know Carnac well, but a drive to Lorient to eat at Abadie's Amphytrion is totally worth it.

      1. Agree with DCM - tough time of year, though I spent a week there two years ago and did just fine, but also was pretty happy to eat my fill of crepes. La P'Tite Cantine in Dinan had a great ficelle Picardie, and went to a hip and lovely place in St. Malo that may be gone now cause I can't find it on googlemaps... I'll check my notes. Mt. St. Michel is worth it, and though the omelets are the thing at La Mere Poulard, it was the Poulet de Bresse that my partner had that was the star.
