Best recs for a decent, sit-down lunch $10 or less anywhere on the T. Any ideas?

Depending on what you order, Petit Robert would work, possibly even with tax/tip.

The New Rod Dee in Washington Square in Brookline has a nice table area. The original Rod Dee is more take out.

How about a nice rice plate at any of a number of Chinatown eateries discussed on this board?

what kind of food? Shanghai Gate - Commonwealth and Harvard Street stop, on Harvard. We just had shrimp, spinach and tofu soup and the best steamed pork dumplings. Tab: 13.00
Fancy lunch: best value to me is the excellent cobb salad or hamburger and fries at Fireplace Grill: weekdays, around 10.00 each. It will go over 10 with tip or drinks.

It's tough to beat Boca Grande, IMO. I tend to go to the one near Porter Square in Cambridge, but there are others around Boston (including Brookline and Brighton).
