    1. There's plenty of good food within a few blocks walk of your hotel. Here are some of the best places:

Mexican - Frontera Grill or Topolobampo, where Rick Bayless is still creating amazing Mexican food (beware long waits at Frontera unless you get there when they open) - www.rickbayless.com/restaurants

Breakfast - South Water Kitchen - www.southwaterkitchen.com ; another option is the cafe in the rear at Fox & Obel, our upscale gourmet grocery - www.fox-obel.com

Deep-dish pizza - the original Uno and Due for single-crust pizza in the pan - www.unos.com - or Bacino's on Wacker for double-crust stuffed pizza - www.bacinos.com

      French bistro - Brasserie Jo - www.brasseriejo.com

      Seafood - Shaw's Crab House - www.shawscrabhouse.com

Steak (and also a good choice for Sunday brunch) - David Burke's Primehouse - www.jameshotels.com/Chicago-Hotel.aspx?name=The-James-Chicago&page=Primehouse

      Italian - Coco Pazzo Cafe - www.cocopazzocafe.com

Greek food is the only kind of food you mentioned that you can't find within a few blocks of your hotel. However, there are plenty of places in Greek Town, a short cab ride away; see http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/119233

        1. 1) Cross Michigan and walk north to Ohio (Eddie Bauer) then turn left 1 block: Big Bowl is a cheerful place with excellent Pan-Asian stir-fries. BB is a Lettuce Entertain you restaurant (high standards of food and service even in their casual venues). Google "chicago restaurant menus" to see their complete menu. 2) A breakfast treat is LB Bistro in Sheraton Hotel (on south side of River just east of Michigan Ave). For a flat price of $22 pp you can visit all breakfast chef stations ad lib and design your own breakfast phantasmagoria (see Sheraton Chicago website for details).

Thanks...Is it worth going to the lounge in the Hankcock building??? They said the kids are welcome.Thought I would spend the money on a drink and apps.instead of paying to go to the oberservation deck.

Yes, as long as the visibility is good. If there are low clouds and you can't see the top from the ground, don't bother.
