Art Smith getting show on TLC

LindaWhit Nov 26, 2009 03:04 PM

He of Oprah's personal chef and Top Chef Masters fame is getting his own show on TLC called "Craving Comfort" with emphasis on southern comfort food: http://tinyurl.com/yj36kdu But he won't be in studio - he'll be on the road finding down home food.

Not sure if I could watch a show all the time with him; wasn't a huge fan of his on TCMasters. But it might be worth a look.

if he starts with his "cooking with love" shtick again, you'll have to resurrect my drinking game idea ;)

Playing the game with his show, one would be hard pressed to make it through to the end.

I like Art - but would prefer he makes his own food. I mean, how many more "road shows" do we need?

He will start every episode with :

" Hi, I'm Art Smith. I have cooked for such people as Oprah, Michelle Obama and Jesus. Today we will be making... yada yada yada..."

Oprah is already culpable for unleashing Rachael Ray and Dr. Phil on the world. Might as well make it the dreadful hattrick.

She already did - with Dr. Oz. :-)

ugh, he makes my skin crawl. i've heard him disseminate inaccurate/incorrect information about nutrition on more than one occasion, and it makes me want to slap him...or Oprah, for making him famous ;)
