Positioning of replies to specific posts

Lately and perhaps earlier though I wasn't aware, my reply to a post is positioned way down away from the particular post. Am I selecting wrongly or is it merely a random occurance?

That can happen if others have replied to the post before you and then people reply to THOSE posts. Yours would drop down but line up with those first posters - unless it doesn't :)

if you want to see which post any reply is a reply to, you click on the name in the upper right of the post and is shows you.
