Cinnamon buns-Vancouver area

Anyone know of a place that makes great cinnamon buns? I'll need to pick them up early, before 8am. Preferably near Broadway and Renfrew area .

Thanks everyone. I ended up going to the Laughing Bean as it's closer to work and guaranteed open. I love Cinnabon too but there's not too many left. I think Metrotown is one of the few remaining ones.

For future reference, I really like Cobbs cinammon buns. The one on Main Street is open @ 6 am.

Patisserie Lebeau sells them-we picked some up when we purchased a pie for thanksgiving. We didn't like them but I think it's because we enjoy the gooey cinnabon ones (I know it's terrible-a bit embarrassed right now:) and these reminded me of what I had in Sweden, drier, no frosting or cream cheese, and harder. It all depends on your tastes and preferences as my old college roomate from Sweden liked her native ones better than our fast food types from the mall.

I too like Cinnabon. Do I have to surrender my Chowhound credentials now? ;-) They seem to be going the way of the dodo (or Krispy Kreme). The Grounds for Coffee bun is very good and quite similar - but it is all the way on the West side.

Plus one for the Patisserie Lebeau cinnamon buns but they are as described by selena -- much more "savoury" than the gooey North American style. The ones at Solly's are pretty decent for the gooier approach, I think, and they are closer to you.

Grounds for Coffee on Alma makes great fresh cinnamon buns w/ or w/out a cream cheese icing and they distribute to other coffee shops around the city. I'm sure there is one of these close to your location, here's the link:

Although, that said I've only had them from the Alma location fresh out of the oven, so I hope they are just as good!

I agree! Grounds for Coffee makes the freshest most delicious cinnamon buns! I'm in Toronto now and that's the first thing I get when I visit home.
