2009 BC – Before Christmas eating events
Here is some info about pre-Christmas teas and such in the Bay Area. .
http://www.chow.com/lists/15444
Christmas Eve will be covered in another topic that will be posted after Thanksgiving.
Some of the meals in this list start the day after Thanksgiving such as the special dinner at the St. Francis after the Macy’s Union Square tree lighting. So I’m putting it out earlier. Also, some of these sell out early, especially the holiday teas. I’ll add to this as more events are found.
The Garden Court at the Palace seems to have some anniversery holiday events for $19.09 that includes a tour of the hotel
When putting together Thanksgiving restaurants lists, I noted if a website had Christmas info. Most of this has to do with Holiday teas and brunches at the major hotels.
I hope others will clue everyone in about other eating events. I know the wineries often have special events, but I just don’t know which
So far the two events outside SF.
The Meadowood 12 Days of Christmas which already has one dinner sold out ... and the price is $950 ... yep, $950 ... but it includes a night at the hotel. Don't think you can do the dinner separately.
The Napa Valley Wine Train has Santa Trains on various dates and a 7 courses of Christmas train on Dec 12th and 17th
Here’s how price was evaluated
$ Under 30
$$ 30 – 49
$$$ 50 – 69
$$$$ 70 and over
Unfortunately because lists doesn’t format, though there are links to Christmas menus, you will need to cut and paste them into your browser.

Thank you! I've been calling the Palace and leaving messages to find out the days for their holiday teas, without success. And I didn't see the link on their website but found it through your info. So thank you!!

More stuff for people on the Penninsula ... this at the Ritz-Carleton which has its tree lighting ceremony TONIGHT - Dec 5th
There will be hot chocolate, apple cider and cookies are offered throughout the . evening. There's also some sort of gingerbread house competition
Speaking of hot chocolate, they have what sounds like a great new thing ... a hot chocolate bar on Friday and Saturday.
"Taste and savor chocolate at its finest with our new Hot Chocolate Bar. Select from a premium chocolate assortment and relish hot, steaming cups on the bluff. We offer a fun medley of toppings, including: vanilla or cinnamon whipped cream, homemade marshmallows, toasted coconut, peppermint chips and more.$9 USD per cup; (Liquor addition - $6 per cup) "
Liquor additions ... now you are talking ... relishing my boozy hot chocolote on the bluff ... it might be worth the $15 a cup ... I might actually try to make it down there for this. Anyone been?
There are also Teddy Bear Teas in Dec. All info here
