Tips for Dining, Eating and Food Shopping in the New England

Grilled Cheese Chain?

My wife and I went shopping at the CT Post Mall in Milford. We went to grab a bite in their food court and she noticed some place called Grilled Cheese To Go. I skipped it but my wife ordered and I had a bite - and I'll be darned - it was actually really good. I think her's was the "healthy grilled" sandwich - looked like they had a few different ones. In any case, the staff said they were a franchise and just was wondering if anybody knew of them?

There's an article about them in today's New Haven Register. The founder is a young graduate of Yale's School of Management. This is their first location with plans to franchise.

I am listening to Faith Middleton and she mentioned this restaurant on today's show. I figured it would be downtown Milford, because she did not state. I'll check it out, though I'm hardly ever at the mall.

I like the simplicity of that menu. Only downer is the fake looking cookies at the bottom.

I'll have an american and bacon on italian, and an onion and muenster on wheat, please.

too bad they don' t list apples as an 'add-on'...my favorite grilled cheese is sharp cheddar with apples on rye with some mustard (dijon)...mmmmmm

It strikes me as the type of place that would be happy to add apples to the menu. It would cost them almost nothing to keep a few crunchy green apples around. I gotta disagree on the rye and mustard thing, but apples and cheddar, mmmmm indeed.
