Morimoto is crappy.

Crappy ingredients like tasteless (frozen?) fish covered in sweet sauces, appetizers like rolls and fried shrimps of sports-bar quality...lots of flavors identical to the food I get from Suzie's on Bleecker St.
All servers were 20-somethings who didn't give a shit.
We waited over a half hour for our reserved table. Of the 6 of us, only the one who ordered a lobster was happy.

And I understand it's packed all the time. Who is eating this crap?

Honestly, it's been a long time since I've been insulted by the food I've been served.

Morimoto is an insultingly bad restaurant, and yet a major production.

-thanks for listening-

Try going to At Vermillion for a truly bad comedy of errors. Though I was really disappointed, hungry, and significantly poorer after my first and last Morimoto visit. Sadly it's all about the scene there.

Come on now. You don't really go there unless you're getting his Omakase directly. Or unless you appreciate Tadao Ando.

yeah except even though its not all that great its actually not as bad as you make it out to be. Over the top hyperbole is pretty useless

Maybe I was over the top. I don't disagree with you. But it truly did suck. I haven't had a meal that actually sucked in NYC in a long time and I live in SoHo and eat out *a lot*.
