AM Thai Chili Basil

Went to this Kensington hole in the wall last night. It's not a restaurant, just one table that is normally full of bags of food waiting to be delivered from the busy kitchen. But the extended Thai family there was delighted to have us sit there & served us fresh, tasty Thai food on their finest styrofoam & plastic. I really liked it--they were amused that we were there and very friendly. The stir-fried dishes were quite good. My standard "tester dish" of stir-fried chicken with chili and basil (pad krapow) was solid, and the "herbal fish" was great. Som tam and laab and squid salad were fresh. The green and red curries were a bit disappointing, though. All of it was not terribly spicy, but I was with friends whose palates are a bit delicate. I'll go back again with Handsome Hubby and ask for "real Thai spicy" and I feel sure we'll be happy. If you live in the delivery area, well, lucky you! it might be the best Thai in Bklyn.

    1. this is one of my favorite places to order from. It's not authentic, but their Thai wonton soup is great--very tart and the wontons have delicate wrappers and a nicely gingery filling. I like their curries when they're spicy, too, but beware. If you order them spicy you'll get something between hot and incendiary. I forget what it's called, but the dish with beef and broad noodles is complex and delicious.
