Best pepperoncini?

  • 3

I like Star. Nice and crisp. Mezzetta is too soggy.
Any others I might be able to pick up at my grocery, Trader Joes or Whole Foods?

  1. i loved the natural, sulfite-free ones Whole Foods was selling - i'm pretty sure they were the Zorba brand, but they've been absent from the shelves for a couple of months now. my current substitute is the little jarred Guindilla peppers from TJ's. not exactly the same flavor, but nice & firm with a good crunch - no mushiness!

I've never seen pepperoncini at Whole Foods, probably because almost all the brands have Yellow #5 and other artificial ingredients. I special order natural ones from greekgourmet.com - $4.99/12 oz. jar.

that's why i was so upset when they disappeared - it was the only reliable source for color- and sulfite-free pepperoncini!
