Camillia Grill or Old Coffee Pot?
Looking for a good Saturday breakfast option. Any thoughts on Camillia vs. Coffee Pot? Any other places I should be looking at? Elizabeth's looks a bit pricey.

Can't speak to the Camilia Grill, but we had a tremendous breakfast at the Old Coffee Pot when we were in NOLA.

I had French toast made from po-boy bread (very good, but I could have used more), my wife had eggs with this amazing creole sauce. Great Bloody Mary's and wonderful elderly waitresses who were full of spit and vinegar! Great time.

As for the Camellia Grill, it is finally restored. We were there in March. Part of the fun is riding the trolley out to it. The ride is pretty cool and of course, the views of the Garden District are beautiful. Get off at the Carrolton stop, or ask the streetcar driver. Be prepared to pay cash, exact change only, for the trolley. Camellia Grill has very attentive waiters, very fast and visible food prep. The Ruben Sandwich is fantastic, the breakfasts are great! The pie is good and the milkshakes are awesome. Everything is served very quickly, but you may have to wait for a seat. All seating is on stools afixed in front of semicircular bars. Eat up!

Now, I have not been to the "new & improved" CG, but based on earlier experiences, it would be a real toss-up for me. Matter-of-fact, it has been for many years, so I just relent and do both.
Sorry that I cannot really help, but they are totally different, but both (old CG) are worth the effort, in their own way.
Enjoy,
Hunt
