Pre-Game Hangouts around the Bradley Center (Milwaukee)

Going to Milwaukee for the first time and looking for places to eat/drink before the Bucks game.

Are there any good dives nearby? Cheap/fun local eats?

Just went here to hang out Saturday afternoon. The stuffed mushroom burger was delicious. The atmosphere is fun! There are metal bombs delivering peanuts around the bar. You can get sweet potato chips or fries (unique taste! very good). It's just a short walk over the river to Water Street. My friends that "regular" there say they never had anything just par on the menu... everything is delicious! (Be sure to check out the secret menu items!)

The BC is really right downtown...so there are lots of options if you expand your search beyond the immediate vicinity. However...these are the casual places that come to mind that are literally right there.

Tutto--Has an italian "upscale" sportsbar type fell with some tasty sandwiches at a good price. http://www.tuttomilwaukee.com/

Turners: Old, Historic feel with the Water Street Brewery beer collection and popular fish fries. http://www.historicturner.com/

Old German Beer Hall: Not sure about food, but you did mention a place to drink and it's a fun place for a beer. http://www.oldgermanbeerhall.com/

Buck Bradleys: A big, bustling bar with a big bar menu http://www.buckbradleys.com/

There is a newer place called the "Cheese Bar" that could be fun, but I haven't tried it out. http://www.wisconsincheesemart.com/mi...

As far as the bar scene goes, I don't know where to start as there are so many options.

One favorite "dive bar" of ours is My Office which is up on Milwaukee Street between Wells and Mason. There are definitely some more hip places just south of it...so you would have other options as well.

And if do you like the dive bar scene, you could head up to the Brady Street area after the game and have some good beer at the Nomad, play some shuffle puck at Thurmans, get in a quick dance on the smallest dance floor you may ever see at JoCats Pub, and end the night at Wolski's...where you will be treated to your own "I closed Wolski's" bumper sticker.

      Hope this helps...have fun!

I second Old German Beer Hall. Eat some sausage and drink some beer.
