3ft. hoagies for party in lower Bergen County - any recommendations?
I am planning a holiday party for approximately 30 people. I need recommendations for delis/specialty stores/super markets, etc. that make large hoagies. Quality meats/cheeses/bread/ assorted salads, etc. I am supplying two three feet hoagies (American/Italian), salads and beer/wine; guests are bringing hors d'oeuvres /desserts, etc.
As a side, had anyone had the hoagies from Stop and Shop, either their own brand or the Boars Head? Many thanks!

The best Italian sandwich shop in Bergen County is Mucci's in Saddle Brook. I don't think they do giant sized sanwiches, but I'm sure they cater sandwich platters that can be sliced to feed a large crowd.
Vitamia is also very good, as doxy mentioned. A close second. If you go there, see if they have bresaola and fresh bufala mozzarella. It's one of the few places I've found that carry bresaola, and their bufala mozz is truely fresh. Anything more than a few days old and bufala (as all fresh mozz's) loses so much of it's flavour.

You didn't say exactly where you are, but lower Bergen does have the best Italian delis. In Fairview there is DePalmas on Bergen Boulevard, excellent selection, also on Bergen Boulevard, more North, I believe Ridgefield, is Tutto Gastronomica, next to tutto modo Mio, I hope I'm even close. They are wonderful. In Englewood there is Bartolomeos on Dean St. big selection and quality stuff. I stay away from Jerrys in Englewood. Of course there is the best, Vitamia in Garfield/Lodi , was there Sunday pure perfection and Viscentini Brothers in Lodi . This is a subject dear to me because I was raised on all this good stuff and have since moved to Northern Bergen, the gastro wasteland. I still make my pilgramage down for the real stuff. Good luck.
