No. That guy I heard moved back to Egypt, but I think he's actually the one that opened the gift shop at about 84th and Greenwood.

The owner is Eritrean, and also owns another Falafel King restaurant in the U-District.
(At least, if my memory didn't fail me)

Well bummer it's not the Egyptian guy.
How is the downtown place? Zaina is too far for me to get to on a lunch break.

As inedible as Zaina.

falafel king is truly awful with much arriving in boxes from sysco and little produced in-house. however, for those of us who consider zaina to be quite close to perfect (sorry,terrier...), the good news is that they have reopened around the corner from falafel king (south side of pine between 1st and 2nd across from the wonderful chocolate box) with the same sign off the wall from the old bon garage site and food as wonderful as ever.

I used to like Zaina but my last couple of visits got me cold falafel balls out of a hotel pan slapped indifferently on a store-bought pita with some sloppy accoutrements. Is the new location any better?

after the "garage" location closed, i hauled myself to the "downtown" spot and was also quite disappointed - just as terrier states - but am pleased to report that the "new" spot is as good as was the original - cannot tell you why....

Good to hear, I'll check out the new location!
