Straus Dairy egg nog in Los Angeles?

ClamHappy Nov 23, 2009 12:54 PM

OK, I've long been a devotee of Broguiere's egg nog, but I'd like to broaden
my quality egg nog horizons, and try the nog made by Straus Family Creamery
of San Francisco (also in glass quart bottles like Broguiere's).
Anyone know of any stores on the Westside of L.A. that carry it?

For a more-complete picture than the answers we can provide, click on the "Stores" link at www.strausfamilycreamery.com and search around your zip code.

Thanks Harry, I tried that, but that is only a list of stores that carry Straus
products in general, and is not item-specific.
I'm hoping some eagle-eyed nog lover can tell me who actually has some!

I've seen it at Whole Foods last season. They didn't have any the last time I was there, but that was a couple of weeks ago. I'd call the WLA WF to find out.

Thank you for the tip. I phoned, none in yet, but they're expecting some in soon! : )

Whole Foods at Wilshire and 23rd in SM had it yesterday.

Well, I found some at Whole Foods last night, and have to say, the Straus eggnog was a major disappointment.
Can not hold a candle to Broguiere's in my opinion, Straus tastes like a quart of 1% milk with a cup of Broguiere's mixed in!

I just spotted a bottle at Whole Foods in Brentwood last night. 4.99 vs 6.99 for Broguiere's at Ralphs. I'm curious to hear how it tastes...

I bought some on Sunday at Whole Foods in Tustin.

Broguiere's is far superior. Straus' is far too thin to drink when spiked with the alcohol.

I've had both & prefer Broguiere's as well. I found it at Ralphs (Olympic & Cloverfield) and the Strauss from Whole Foods Venice.
