Looking for shrimp-free wonton?

My dad has developed an allergy to shrimp, so we're looking for wonton that is shrimp-free. I know we all like the large crispy shrimps, but if anyone knows of a place in the GTA who has either soup dumplings or wonton that doesn't have shrimp in it, please post.

    I haven't been in a while, so I'd call to double check but I also have a severe shrimp allergy and I love the peanut wontons (pork) at the Spadina Garden on Dundas.

    But as I mentioned, I haven't been in a while - it's always possible they changed their recipe so check.

      The Shanghainese version has only pork and vegetable ( usually Bok-Choi ). As such you need to frequent 'Northern style' cuisine places like 369. Ding Tai Fung as well as a number of other dumpling houses scattered around Scarborough. Good Luck!

        If you want to stick with the Cantonese style which has a thin wrapper, versus the Northern style with a thicker chewier skin, then the only option would be vegetarian versions.
