I went to Raffi's Place on Broadway in Glendale Friday night for lamb kabobs.

it was 13.99 for a big plate, heaped with basmati rice, lamb chunks (there was no skewer), grilled bell peppers and onions, a whole grilled anaheim (?) chili, and two whole grilled tomatoes. i loved that they gave a half a lemon. everything was great, meat could have been more moist.

the hummus appetizer was fine, pretty nondescript. i wasn't sure what to do with the plate of raw onion, herbs, and radishes on the table. but i did eat a radish.

there are two sections of the restaurant: an covered outdoor patio with heat lamps and an indoor more formal area with stark white walls. it seemed as if no one ate inside and the patio area was just more warm and inviting.

i was just wondering if there was any other place in the SGV closer to pasadena/arcadia/monrovia where i could get great lamb kabobs.

thanks!

Hi,

Try Meditteranean Garden Grill on Foothill Blvd. in Monrovia. They have the best lamb kabobs there, in fact, everything we have had there has been wonderful. The owners are also very nice.

Mediterranean Cafe's (one blok east of the corner Lake and Del Mar in Pasadena) are quite acceptable if you work or live nearby. Not worth a long drive though. Open until 7:30 PM.

BTW, the cornish game hen kabobs at Raffi's are excellent.
