Bottling homeade steak sauce

I have a recipe for homeade steak sauce I would like to bottle for Christmas gifts. Would I bottle it like pickles? With a boiling water bath, etc. Would plastic bottle caps work? Any advice would be appreciated.

    Not knowing the pH of your homemade steak sauce (yum), I'd recommend a pressure-canning process. Water bath method is unreliable for anything except jams, IMO.
