Joe's Stone Crab - Dress Code
Hi all,
I'm planning on going to Joe's Stone Crab next Wed (day before thxgiving). This is our first time there. I noticed that there is a dress code.
For men, would a nice pair of jeans work with a nice polo or button down, or are dress slacks + button down shirt a "must"?
Thanks!

I just had dinner there on Monday and I didn't see anyone in shorts, but that's not to say they aren't allowed. Joe's has such a nice atmosphere with it's tuxedoed waiters and red-jacketed busboys that I think people just understand that it is a special restaurant with a special atmosphere deserving of respect - hard and fast rules or no. Enjoy your meal - we had a fabulous time and I highly recommend the Dr. Loosen Riesling on their by-the-glass list (it was not offered by the bottle, for some reason, but I bet you could buy it that way if you asked) - the wine is perfect with the stone crab and mustard sauce!

Whether there's a dress code or not, I don't think I'd go to Joe's in shorts and flip-flops and I don't think you'll see many people that do. Keep in mind it is no reservations, and the maitre'd may exercise some "discretion" in how people are seated. If you look like a peasant you may be treated like one. Nice jeans and polo would be fine, dress slacks + buttondown unnecessary.

re: zook
On Miami Beach it's pretty much anything goes.....Nice shorts and shirt work just about anywhere.....MB is very casual generally speaking.......The night clubs are stricter though....they routinely turn away NBA superstars that try to get in wearing shorts and flip-flops.....and they don't care how much Cristal they're going to buy!...LOL.....
