Looking for Great Snickerdoodle Recipe

What is your best snickerdoodle recipe?

I would like to bake some but since they have never been a personal favorite of mine and I just do not know what to look for in a recipe. Likewise I don't really know when they taste right. So any recipe recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

My son loves snickerdoodles so I opened this thread hoping to find a killer recipe.

This Martha Stewart recipe is the same one I start with. Frankly, I think the cookies are too soft. I upped the flour to 3 cups and used more salt and some vanilla for a flavor boost.

The whole deal is to have great cinnamon. I use Ceylon cinnamon and coarse sugar for rolling the balls of dough.

They are chewy and that's exactly how my kids enjoy them. The deal is Vietnamese cinnamon and raw sugar crystals in our version but to each their own! On the flavoring we've used vanilla extract and vanilla bean for a boost but in the adult version I make I also add espresso powder. Lots of ways to experiment. But I'm partial to a chewy version.
