Memphis, TN: Tom's Bar-B-Q & Deli?
Tom's Barbeque which has been featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, recently opened a second location in Oakland, CA. I have no clue why. However, it seems like they are trying to stick pretty close to the food served at the Memphis location.
So, I was just wondering if Chowhounds who have been to the Memphis location have tips on the best things to order ... or things to avoid.
I know there are other good bbq joints in Memphis, but because we only have Tom's out here, that is all I'm interested in.
Also, I read somewhere that there is some Greek influence in the rub Adam uses. Is that true?

I tried Tom's based on a recommendation from a couple of people I know. Personally not my favorite.
That's one person's opinion. The two people that recommended it to me list it as their favorite.

I've heard that their rib tips are excellent.
Also, the rub you are speaking of.....not sure about Toms, but I know Rendezvous' has a Greek influence in it.
