Looking for black baking cocoa
I moved to the Boston area a year ago and need black baking cocoa for a Christmas cookie recipe. Will order from King Arthur if I have to, but the shipping was more than the price of the cocoa. Thanks.

I feel like a salesman for Cirelli in Middleborough sometimes, but their selection is huge, and they are really cheap (not to mention really friendly). They have some cocoa, but I'm not sure if it's what you're looking for. You can search here: http://cirelli.foodorderentry.com/cfm...

Let me know if you found a place. I've done an online search and haven't found anyone else who sells it but King Arthur. I'm gonna try to visit my old baking teacher hopefully within the next wk or so to see if he has any ideas on where I can obtain some black cocoa powder.
Will let you know if I find a place. If not I'm holding out to see if King Arthur will offer free shipping this year and I'll just stock up on the black cocoa

What exactly is "black cocoa?" I use Valrhona cocoa, from Whole Foods or Marty's, and it's pretty darn dark.

It's a brand of King Arthur, I don't think it's a technical baking term. it's an extra dark Dutch process cocoa (possibly regular, too).
