Best Bourbon bars, Brooklyn or Manhattan
I'm meeting an old pal Tuesday night. We both love bourbon and I'm looking for a bar that has a really good selection of Americ'as finest. I know many places specialize in Scotch but bourbon is another story. I've been to Fette sau but it's really not a place to hang out at the bar and Char 4 is kinda pricy so what else is there?

Dinosaur BBQ has a very good bourbon selection. While we've only been there for the food, the bar looked pretty comfortable.

Dinosaur's a good lead.
Despite its name, the Brandy Library actually has a very nice, fairly extensive collection of bourbon's (and American whiskeys). They carry bourbons from a number of very small makers that I have not personally seen outside of Kentucky. Unfortunately, it's on the pricier side.

Wound up goin tto dba. Old standby. Had a couple of 4 roses small batch. Nice, and then Jeffersons Reserve, very light, almost too light. I'll have to remember the 2 recs above. Thanks

Nice. I hadn't realized DBA had such a great selection. I'll have to check it out sometime.

Their selection is fine. It's not worth a detour just for the bourbon. We polished off the ends of 2-3 bottles, and it didnt seem like they had replacements. On another note, the last 2-3 times I've been by dba, their draft list was mighty old. Some drafts had been tapped 2-3 weeks previous. Their Brooklyn location was even worse.

Fette Sau in Williamsburg is a good choice.
