Problem with my Staub Cocotte

Hello Dear Team,

I just bought brand new round cocotte (28 cm) and discovered the following problem.
I putted the cocotte on the stove, preheated 20-30 seconds and added the vegetable oil (as per first time seasoning recommendations). Then, I discovered that the oil is unevenly distributed on the bottom of the pot. Oil is going around the edges, but in the middle of the pot the amount of oil is very small, and it seemed to burn. All looks as if a pot curved bottom, and therefore oil is going to the edges...
I added more oil, but nothing has changed. Oil gathered at the edges, but in the middle of the pan there are almost no oil.
What is the cause of this situation? This defect in pots?
Or my problem with an electric stove?
What do you advise?

Your observing the Bénard-Marangoni convection. Basically oil moves from the hot centre to the cooler edges. It came up a couple of months ago in a post here about all-clad interiors showing the same effect.

30 seconds doesn't seem very long to pre heat cast iron, so you may get more even temperatures by preheating longer at lower temps.
