MSP - Where to buy goat meat?

I am thinking of making a goat dish for Thanksgiving and I am wondering where to find good goat in the cities to cook. Anyone have a clue?

    1. I get mine from Holyland Deli & Bakery on Central Ave (NE?). Its not too far from downtown MSP. They clean and cut the meat for you too if you ask them. Fresh meat comes in on Fridays..Happy Thanksgiving!

Thank you for that suggestion, I will check them out. I have been meaning to go there anyways.

          • Holy Land and Crescent Moon on Central in NE both have it, but Holy Land can butcher it for you further, and I believe it may only be frozen in sides at Crescent Moon. Looks like good meat however and halal.

Does anyone know if Clancey's can get goat/young goat?

if there are farmers growing em locally, and I imagine there are, I am sure they can.

Allow me to rephrase; has anyone on here purchased young goat from Clancey's?

Yes, actually, just last week. Clancey's had goat meat (and they even Twittered about getting it in!) -- I got some and made a braised goat curry from it -- it was extremely fresh and tender.

I don't know if they have it every week, but definitely give them a call.

In the past I've also gotten it from Holy Land, although I liked the Clancey's goat meat better.
